I'm happy and excited to announce the long-awaited continuation of Lichen & Leaf workshops. This year I hope to invite you to participate in a fun and practical skill-based learning experience, designed to enable your creativity in an ongoing practice. Starting with fabric block-printing, I am dreaming up a series of workshops for the inquisitive and creative mind to learn how to make pretty things. So! Watch this space, subscribe to my newsletter and follow me on Instagram to keep informed :)

UPCOMING WORKSHOPS

April Makers - Fabric Block-Printing

when: Saturday 30 April

Click HERE to reserve your spot online.

This workshop will be held in our home studio in Muizenberg, Cape Town, from approximately 9:30 - 3:30. Times to be confirmed closer to the day.

What you will learn:
The workshop will focus on the block printing technique. You will learn to carve your own "block" and print your patterns on fabric. You will receive in depth advice, tips and tricks for printing fabric, learn about pattern making, and walk away with everything you need to do it again!

What you will take home:
Yip, that's right - the Block-printing Tool Kit walks away with you, with all the tools, your completed workshop block, and a complete guide for future reference plus a special gift from Lichen & Leaf!

The goal:
Fabric will be printed with the goal of making a tote. All fabric will be cured post workshop and made up in to a beautiful 100% cotton, fully lined tote bag with leather straps. These will be couriered to you a few weeks after the workshop.

Details:
Workshop will be for approximately 6 hours.
Exact times and venue to be announced.
Cost is R1600 for the workshop which includes your Tool-Kit and the manufacture and delivery of your bag.
Class size will be max 6 people - first come first served!

Terms:
Workshop is on a prepaid basis, payments not received within 24hrs of invoicing will forfeit participation.
I reserve the right to reschedule or cancel the event and issue refunds.
Paid participation is final and nonrefundable. If you are unable to make it on the day you are welcome to sell/gift participation to a friend :)

As we are not yet out of the woods, participants will be required to wear a mask when advised, as per standard COVID protocols.

Snacks and drinks will be served and a fun time will be had! Please note we will take a break for refreshments, however I will only be able to provide some snacks, tea and coffee - if you are a hungry person (or very fussy!) please bring a packed lunch :)

What others have said:

"Thank you so much for your time and effort yesterday. It was marvellous! I learned so much and found it so helpful to do something very hands-on and get going with the process, rather than learn a whole lot of theory and not actually MAKE anything. I'm super inspired and just want to get on and make more beautiful things. :)" - Claire

"Thank you for such a lovely day on Wednesday, the workshop really was so enjoyable and you made it incredibly easy to learn! I've been thinking about how you can improve it but I'm afraid I'm stumped! It was lovely from beginning to end, and incredibly relaxing just to create!" - Kirsten

"Eeeek, just got my bag - it's SO lovely!

Thanks again for the amazing experience and this super cool bag, day made!!!" - Ella
